Afcon Ltd. Enhances P-CIM HMI/SCADA Software Functionality with Symbol Factory from Software Toolbox

Charlotte, NC USA January 17, 2001– Afcon Control and Automation Inc. (www.afcon-inc.com) and Software Toolbox^®, Inc. (www.softwaretoolbox.com) announced today a licensing arrangement under which Afcon will bundle the Software Toolbox's Symbol Factory software with Afcon's P-CIM SCADA/HMI software, providing users of P-CIM with an extensive library of over 3,000 industrial automation objects and software for managing the library and integrating it with P-CIM.

"By licensing the Symbol Factory product we were able to bring to the market a cost effective answer to increasing size of the symbols and graphics library previously available when building an application with AFCON P-CIM products. The Symbol Factory adds a variety and depth of selection in terms of objects and graphics. In order to improve its existing library to arrive at the diversity and richness of the Symbol Factory product, Afcon would have had to invest many months of engineering time," said Avi Gottesman, Regional and Internal Marketing Manager for Afcon.
