Software Toolbox Announces Release of Dream Report Version 4.72
CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 6, 2016 - Software Toolbox a leading supplier of industrial automation software, today announced the release of Dream Report Version 4.72. New features and enhancements included with this release are changes to the SQL Table Control, updates to Web Portal functionality, and the addition of Water and Waste Water Application Universal Templates.
The existing SQL Table’s powerful functionality has been extended further. The addition of Hyperlink functionality allows users to link to data from other reports in their SQL Table – enabling them to drill down in the data to get more valuable insights. Enhanced Visualization settings have also been added to the SQL Table, enabling customization of the appearance of the data in the table, such as highlighting the data different colors depending on its value.
Web Portal enhancements include a slide-show capability, where users can select a set of Web Reports and have them automatically transition from one to the next – similar to a slide-show presentation. A Report Playback feature, allowing the user to dynamically generate and display within a predefined period of time with a specified step, was added as well. The Report Playback enables detailed analysis of the data contained in a report in more granular fashion.
Water and Waste Water industry users were addressed in this release as well, through the addition of some new Universal Templates. These templates are a set of standardized Water and Waste Water reports with example calculations that are commonly required for regulatory purposes. Users can build off of these templates, or simply edit them and import their own data, to generate compliant reports – or even place the data into existing EPA provided Excel templates! Having the statistical calculations already configured in the reports saves users a lot of time.

Software Toolbox Announces Release of New Dream Report Version 4.6 R4
CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 15, 2015 - Software Toolbox a leading supplier of industrial automation software, today announced the release of Dream Report Version 4.6 R4. The latest release is not just a service pack and contains many new features that every user can benefit from - including the ability for concurrent report generation, a new web API, and enhancements to the Web Portal aesthetics.
In previous versions, reports were queued and processed one at a time. With 4.6 R4, users can configure Dream Report to generate multiple reports simultaneously, which is especially important for responsiveness in situations where there are multiple Web Portal users viewing different reports.
Users now also have the ability to generate reports dynamically through the use of the Dream Report Web API. Users can use a URL to specify which report they want to generate, the report file format, and also pass it any necessary report parameters like the start and stop time for a report. This will allow tighter integration of Dream Report into other external applications such as existing HMI’s that have a built-in web browser.
The Web Portal also received a facelift in the latest version, giving it a more modern, clean, and logical layout. There are 17 built-in portal themes that users can choose from to style their Web Portal any way they choose.
On top of it all, there were 4 new drivers added to allow Dream Report to connect to even more data sources, including Wonderware 2014 R2 historical Alarms and legacy RSView historical data (in *.dbf format).
Dream Report, developed by Ocean Data Systems, has once again improved an already outstanding product. Since 4.6 R4 is technically a service pack, existing 4.6 license owners do not need to purchase a new license to benefit from these enhancements. Feel free to upgrade today! If you do not own an existing 4.6 license, please contact us to hear about your options. To see an exhaustive list of new additions, click here for full release notes.

Software Toolbox Launches New Dream Report Version 4.5 for Integrated Industrial Automation Reporting Applications
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 1, 2012 -- Software Toolbox, a leading supplier of industrial automation software, today released Dream Report Version 4.5, the latest upgrade to its real-time reporting solution for industrial automation featuring a variety of new features and enhancements.
Dream Report Version 4.5 introduces a new internal project parameters function that allows users to configure internal tags that act as global variables and can be referenced in multiple reports. Changing the value of the variable in one report updates the variable in all other reports in the project where it is referenced. The variable can be updated from the web controls in the Web Portal, or through the Manual Values Editor utility for flexible configuration changes that only have to be made once.
New aggregated data filters enable generation of actionable information from raw data stored in the database. These filters allow Dream Report to perform intelligent retrieval of data from the database, such as calculating the sum or the average of logged values once an hour, once a day or any configurable time period. These aggregated values are superior to raw data because they can be used for more informed management decision-making.
Additional features further enhance Dream Report’s ease-of-use and maintainability. New advanced database archiving tools enable users to automatically archive old data, removing it from the active database and compressing it into a specific storage location. This maximizes storage capacity without manual maintenance or loss of valued archival data.
Dream Report Version 4.5 also offers expanded report storage options which include CSV file report generation.Reports can now be automatically transferred to a specified FTP server for expanded access options.
Dream Report, developed by Ocean Data Systems, is easy to use yet powerful enough to work effectively with professional databases -- such as SQL Server 2005/2008 and Oracle -- with no programming or database development skills. The solution combines five key functions to make it a convenient reporting solution for industrial automation: data collection; data logging; data extraction and analysis; report design; and report generation and distribution. The comprehensive functionality of Dream Report is the result of the configurable end-user interface, which relies on user-friendly check-box configuration tools.

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 20, 2011 -- Software Toolbox, a leading supplier of industrial automation software, today announced the release of Dream Report, the first reporting solution for industrial automation with a comprehensive integrated feature set and no programming required. Dream Report is designed to be a simple solution for extracting information from almost any data source, and then deliver reports automatically to anyone, anywhere.
Dream Report is a real-time reporting generator solution, developed by Ocean Data Systems. It is easy to use right out of the box and yet powerful enough to work effectively with professional databases, such as SQL Server 2005/2008 and Oracle with no programming or database development skills. Such comprehensive functionality is due largely to the configurable end-user interface, which relies on user-friendly check-box configuration tools. The solution combines five key functions to make it a convenient reporting solution for industrial automation: data collection; data logging; data extraction and analysis; report design; and report generation and distribution.
A key capability of Dream Report is integrated web functionality. Users can automatically publish reports via a secure web portal on the Internet or company intranet, providing a user-friendly, built-in interface for complete reporting project management. Users also can browse reports, access entire report history, generate reports on demand, configure per-report user access, save reports locally and even print reports from a web client. And, as an added convenience, no local installation of software is required on the user side making the web portal a pure thin client.
Aside from the powerful functionality of Dream Report, it is also a highly scalable solution for reporting within an enterprise. The pricing and functionality of Dream Report makes it ideal for a wide array of projects. It can be used for a unit reporting scope for performance and batch reporting to reporting at a factory site level. When required, Dream Reports is even able to combine information for a report from multiple databases into one consolidated site reporting system without duplicating the source data locally.
Dream Report complements the wide range of product offerings provided by Software Toolbox for industrial automation. When combined with data acquisition solutions such as TOP Server, OmniServer and Cogent DataHub, Dream Report gains access to a diverse selection of automation information. And FactoryWidgets from Software Toolbox provides a convenient means for real-time display of key reporting metrics right on a user’s PC desktop, including the ability to link directly to the web-enabled reports provided by Dream Report for a greater scope of detail.
“Dream Report is a valuable solution for consuming raw industrial automation data and turning that data into informative reports for making effective business decisions,” said Win Worrall, brand manager for Dream Report at Software Toolbox. “With the release of the latest version of Dream Report, Software Toolbox customers now have a powerful reporting solution at their fingertips that requires no programming knowledge, making it extremely easy to use and realize a timely return on investment, while also being very economical due to the high scalability of the product. Dream Report is a versatile product that, when coupled with other Software Toolbox data acquisition products and visualization tools, provides companies with a comprehensive solution for monitoring productivity and operations.”
The latest version of Dream Report also implements user management, audit trails and version control for secure operations. A new Runtime Management Console provides a single easy interface for managing reporting projects from local or remote machines. Redundancy is also supported, making it possible to ensure the system is always available.
