 IntraVUE™ is a great utility that can
increase the service offering of a System Integrator. The web linking aspects of the product will allow them to organize
the documentation that has been a problem for most of their clients for years. IntraVUE is a product that is very
cost effective used as a network monitor, but can be richly enhanced to organize and simplify operational and
maintenance activities. The Framework that it provides can link existing web based HMI applications, embedded web
content in factory floor devices, and to documentation.
Integrators in the water and wastewater area are directly involved with the
deployment of Ethernet networks. The Homeland Security Act has created a great
deal of activity in the Electric, Water and municipal area for security of not only
physical intrusion but also network security. We have seen great interest from this segment of the market.
The System Integrators in the Pharmaceutical market are also seeing the ability to
document all network changes as important to enhance the security requirements
brought on by the FDA in 21 CFR part 11. More development will occur on this as more integrators focus on these applications.
Full deployment of IntraVUE™ with the graphic pictures of enclosures (in the
location view), integration of wiring diagrams, and linking to active web pages in HMI stations will create work for the SI. IntraVUE™ is not specific to any one
vendor, so once learned it can be deployed on any automation project regardless of automation equipment selected.
