In the last example, we showed you how to determine where a device was connected on a switch. In that example, we showed you a simple device that was one hop away from the switch. 

What about the device that goes offline and you know it goes through multiple switches and cables. Is the problem the cable and if so which one, the switch, or the device ? You could spend a long time and walk a lot to figure out the answer.  Lets look at how IntraVUE helps you solve this problem quickly. By double clicking in the device at 10.1.1.244 shown in the previous example, we end up with the view below:

After double clicking on the switch at 10.1.1.4 we end up with the view below and we know exactly where to go look for the root cause!
