OPC Aggregation

What is OPC Aggregation?

OPC aggregation means collecting data from several OPC servers into one common point of access. The OPC DataHub supports multiple simultaneous connections, which means aggregating data is as simple as connecting multiple OPC Servers.

Benefits of Aggregating Data

  • Reduced number of OPC client connections. One client program can access data from multiple servers through a single connection to the OPC DataHub.
  • Bringing data from multiple sources together into one location allows you to easily bridge between different OPC Servers so that data from one server can be accessed in another server.
  • Writing custom applications that access data from multiple sources is much easier when you can access that data through a common interface, such as that offered by the OPC DataHub API.
