OPC DataHub Software Upgrades
How OPC DataHub licensing works
When you purchase licenses for OPC DataHub you will receive a license code that unlocks the demo software.
OPC DataHub Versions are in the format X.Y.Z. where X.Y are the major and minor release versions. When you purchase a
license of OPC DataHub for Version X.Y, then your license code will work with all X.Y release versions, regardless of the build number "Z", and with beta versions of the subsequent release X.Y+1.
Lets look at an example:
If you purchase licenses for the release version 6.4, your license code will work with any 6.4.x release version and also with any 6.5.x beta version of the software.
Upgrade options
Customers have two options if they wish to upgrade to the next full release version of the software: (i.e. from 6.4 to 6.5 in the example above)
1. Standard Upgrade Policy
Free upgrades are provided to customers who purchased licenses within 6 months of the new release date.
Example - you purchase 6.4 and 6.5 release build comes out within 6 months of your purchase. You would get all updates to 6.4.x and the upgrade to 6.5
50% discount to customers who purchased licenses more than 6 months before the new release date.
2. Maintenance Support Agreement (click for full agreement details)
Purchase the maintenance package for your licenses and receive free upgrades and support for 12 months.
Annual fee is 20% of the list price of the your licenses (if purchased within 30 days of your initial license purchase).
It pays to have your software on maintenance agreements because you will always be assured of having the latest technology and support.
