The PLC-5 Processor Status Wizard is used to display status information for the Allen-Bradley PLC-5 family of processors. Information available includes processor
status, major faults, minor faults, rack faults, active DH+ nodes, processor clock, and scan times. All tags are created and configured automatically.
Dialog Box Settings
DDE Access Name of PLC
This is the DDE access name that corresponds to the PLC that you want to monitor. If the DDE access name that you enter does not exist, then
the wizard will ask you if it can create it for you. Remember that you will also need to create a corresponding DDE topic in your DDE server.
Base Tagname
This wizard will create several tags that it needs to get the selected status information out of the PLC. All of the tags
created for this particular wizard will begin with the Base Tagname. It is recommended that the Base Tagname be the same as the DDE Access Name, and that it be fairly short (10 characters or less).
Processor Model
Select the model of processor that most closely matches the processor that you will be monitoring. Mainly, the model
information is used to draw the appropriate faceplate. It is also used if the PLC is "enhanced", which can affect whether some information is actually available in the PLC.
Create These Status Pages
Check all of the status pages that you wish to create. If you click on "Processor Only," then only the processor faceplate will
be constructed.
Display Last Fault Code Info
If you check this box, then the user can get a text description of the last major fault, rather than just a fault code.
User Can Modify Watchdog
If you check this box, then the user can change the program watchdog setpoint. Use this option with caution, since setting a
low watchdog can cause the processor to fault.
