Software Toolbox® announces the latest release of the OPC Data Logger. Version 3.8.0.8 brings a new range of possibility for file spanning events that has built on this existing feature. The Data Logger now allows users to span their files based on Record Count, or File size. This addition adds a new element to the already included option of spanning files by a triggered event in the Data Logger. We also added the ability for our users to duplicated items in their configuration view. This will be a great time saver for our users working on large projects that employ many components. Improvements to the Table Presentation mode now allow for the built-in timestamp to be disabled – granting greater flexibility in your logging preferences. There are also several changes made to accommodate issues with specific time-and-date formats that are not supported in by Windows file naming convention.
OPC Data Logger Adds Support for OPC Unified Architecture (UA)
Software Toolbox is proud to announce the newest release of the OPC Data Logger V3.5.0.34, which includes new connectivity support for OPC Unified Architecture (UA) Servers. OPC UA is the OPC Foundation's newest standard that offers a secure and reliable common communication protocol between applications. The main benefit of OPC UA is that, unlike the OPC DA specification, this technology is not reliant on Microsoft's COM/DCOM layer. With support for the OPC UA standard now integrated into the OPC DataLogger, logging data from remote servers becomes even easier by making DCOM configuration headaches a thing of the past.
Using the OPC Data Logger along with one of OPC UA Servers, like our TOP Server or OmniServer, can provide you with a complete OPC UA solution for your device connectivity and data logging needs.
