Software Toolbox is your source for industrial automation software, from project conception to completion.  To elaborate, we are the place our clients turn to find, evaluate, purchase, and get support for automation software tools including ActiveX controls, DDE servers, OPC servers, development toolkits and more.  Software Toolbox works with our clients in all phases of projects to help them find and determine the right tools to use and support them in the tools they choose to use with product and application support services.

 

We have been in Internet Company since our founding in 1996 and had hundreds of quality products when we launched our first products in 1996.  Since then our product breadth and depth and client base has continued to grow as users demanded more ActiveX, OPC, and other component software.  As more and more automation users started using the Internet, we too have grown our Internet presence to meet their needs.

 

At Software Toolbox, all we do is automation software.  By focusing on solely the automation industry, we can continue to work to provide you with quality products and service that you deserve.  When you think of Software Toolbox our goal is to have you think of these things as describing Software Toolbox:

When did Software Toolbox Start and Who is Behind It ?

 

Software Toolbox was founded in 1996 by a team of automation industry professionals who recognized that as software became a bigger part of automation solutions, someone had to provide an effective way to answer the question “I know the tool I need is probably out there, but where do I get it?”  Our founders also recognized that in the software segment of the manufacturing automation industry, customers were demanding greater interoperability in the packages they licensed.  In other words, they wanted to buy software that they knew would work well with other vendor’s software.  The founders recognized that the rapidly growing acceptance of the Microsoft computer operating systems Windows and Windows NT and their underlying technologies would create opportunities to address this need.

 

Software Toolbox is a privately held company funded by its founders and private investors in the Charlotte, NC region.  The teams of founders all have extensive experience in the automation industry with an average of over 10 years each in the automation industry working for manufacturers and distributors.

Our managing partner and president is John Weber. John has an industrial and systems engineering background and has been writing software for 18 years. He has worked in tech support and application engineering for a major PLC manufacturer and represented them in the field.  He served as an applications engineer, sales engineer, and was director of marketing for one of the top high tech automation distributors in the Southeast United States before founding Software Toolbox.  He also holds a master’s degree in business administration.

Who We are Not ?

 

• We are not systems integrators.  We have plenty of excellent integrator clients who we can gladly refer you to.
• We are not a publishing company, catalog house, advertising company, or a “flash in the pan” Internet company - we’ve been around since 1996 and intend to be here for many years to come.

• We are not a hardware manufacturer nor are we beholden to any particular hardware manufacturer.
